Entrepreneur in Renewable Energy, Utility Scale BESS and Technology

Alexander Papacosta is a business builder focused on renewable energy, utility scale battery storage and commercial strategy for emerging energy markets. As Business Development Director at Lighthief Cyprus, he leads the expansion of solar PV portfolios, negotiates BESS distribution agreements and develops partnerships that accelerate energy transition projects. His current work includes scaling SolarFarms.cy, originating and structuring utility scale solar assets and introducing bankable battery storage solutions that support grid stability and long term portfolio returns.

His approach integrates commercial development, technical understanding and market positioning, allowing him to navigate both strategic partnerships and on the ground project execution. This RES focus builds on a long entrepreneurial track record across media, production and technology.

Before moving into renewable energy, Alexander spent two decades building creative and production businesses. He co founded Moi Ostrov Magazine and later Moi Ostrov Studio, turning them into leading creative platforms in Cyprus. Over fifteen years, he produced more than 400 photo and film campaigns and delivered advertising, digital content and editorial work for more than 1500 clients. He also established Cyprus Production Service to support international productions and strengthen Cyprus reputation as a Mediterranean filming hub, working with brands and groups such as Yoox Net a Porter, Triumph, TUI, Princess Yachts and Watermelon Pictures.

His experience across sectors shares the same core strengths: brand creation, commercial strategy, operational management and the ability to build scalable ventures. He applies these capabilities today in renewable energy and energy storage, shaping new opportunities in a rapidly evolving market.
